Religious Education
In Key Stage 3 students are supported in the development of their spiritual, moral, cultural and mental developments. Students will study a range of religious and non-religious perspectives about a variety of key issues which is aimed at preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences they will take in later life.
Students will be introduced to a variety of world views, including the perspectives of a range of world religions. Our approach includes a mixture of studying religions and world views separately and through a thematic approach. Our Religious Education offering in the timetable is supplemented with external speakers, events and other additional activities. Parents do have the right to remove their children from receiving religious education although we would ask parents / carers who might be considering this to contact us in order to discuss how our RE syllabus is relevant to all pupils and respects their own personal beliefs, enabling you to make a fully informed decision.
