Jaime has 13 years of extensive experience in the fashion and product design industry. Jaime has been described as a thought-provoking interrogator continuously seeking out new ways to design and craft in the 21st century.
Jaime debuted her BA graduate collection at London Graduate Fashion Week in 2009 gaining notoriety from leading press and blogger’s naming Hartley as favourite designer by the GFW press team. Following Graduate Fashion Week Jaime was selected to show her work at ‘Style in the City Birmingham’ and ‘Off the Rails Ireland’ where she received further interest in her creative fashion practice. In 2010 Jaime undertook further studies, achieving an MA in Fashion Futures with a ‘distinction’ from Kingston University where she developed her pioneering practice and swiftly gaining industry followers for her forward-thinking approach to fashion design. During the past 13 years, since completing her MA, Jaime has showcased her fashion collection at London Fashion Week and has assisted in the making of a number of celebrities wardrobes from Beyonce Knowles ‘Who Run the World’ gold dress and accessories, The Black Eyed Peas world tour outfits and Azealia Banks UK tour outfits, incorporating wearable technology.
Not only is Jaime a fashion design specialist she also has copious amounts of experience as a product designer/ developer. Jaime has designed and developed many products for 5* golf clubs, hotels and resorts in and across the UK and the Middle East such as: Legoland, The Jumeriah Group, Gleneagles, St Andrews, The Burj Al Arab, The Burj Khalifa and Abi Dhabi Golf Club to name a few.
In 2015, Jaime solo travelled for 6 months, working remotely from her laptop, visiting a number of textile manufacturers in India, lecturing in one of Tokyo’s prestigious fashion schools and visiting customers in the Middle East, enhancing her research and creativity.
Jaime believes that innovation happens when people are free to think, experiment and speculate, bridging the gap between education and industry. She firmly believes our sustainable future is in the hands of the next generation of designers. Jaime has the skills, knowledge and experience that is heavily relied upon in technology and loves spending time engaging young thinkers in solving problems, working with materials and being creative.
